Petrol Consumption.

When this car returned to Derby on Wednesday it had done 100 miles at slow averages due to fog and the remainder normal fast average speeds under good conditions. 11 galls. had been added. After the tank was filled up in Derby the car was driven 140 miles at good average speeds the remainder under black out conditions. 4 galls. was added to the tank.

We should like to know the average consumption for the two runs.

Heater.

The heater frequently failed to switch on and made gurling noises and never functioned properly.

Carburation.

The flat spot in the carburation became worse as the car was run. It should be ascertained if this is affected by the plugs becoming oxidised or if it is purely a function of air temp.

Gearboxes.

Neither 2nd. 3rd. or top could be engaged on this box under cold conditions.

The box should be drained and filled with Castrolite so that the test can be repeated.

Gear Rattles.

A pronounced gear rattle is beginning to be heard from the timing gears.

Rev-counter.

The rev-counter is noisy and erratic.
