SOX7940 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, Many thanks for your reports. We have despatched to you a pair of Woodhead front springs and rebound leaves. These are 1150 lbs. springs. They are the only springs of this type which we have. We have also sent off by post, the weaker springs for the side steering tube. We are rushing forward now with the arrangement for adding friction to the pivots for 12-EX axle. We hope to send the parts to France at the end of this week. We are sending off to you today the stronger springs for the low pressure side of the hydraulic dampers. We should remember that the lightened type front axles as fitted to 12-EX have been ordered up for production. It is therefore up to us to give particulars as soon as possible as regards what modifications are necessary in order to retain the same quality of steering. It may mean that we shall have to say that low pressure tyres cannot be used without risk of wobbles. As regards tyres. We recommend that you get contd :- | ||
