| - 3 - Rear Axle. Very good all round. No repetition of gear noise which was heard during run on Autobahn last December, although a similar run was made on Italian Autostrada when 84 miles were covered in one hour. Central Lubrication System. Coiled pipe to nearside front pivot partly cut through by metal shield. Similar failure has recently occurred on 27.G.VI. Suggest cover be made of material which will not cut pipe, or, alternatively, coiled pipe be replaced by flexible rubber connection. Coachwork. Coachwork has stood up very well indeed, and is remarkably free from rattles. The principal problems which require clearing up are: Cracking of Valve seats Failure of Exhaust valves. Occasional sticking of exhaust valves. Gearbox quietness and synchro mesh operation. Transmission vibration at 55 - 60 M.P.H. | ||
