c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 428 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}12/G.29.3.39. DROPPED BENTLEY V.{VIENNA} CHANGE GEAR LEVER AND GATE. Please receive herewith G.CD.1285 a proposal for fitting the Reverse Light Switch to the C.G. Gate in combination with a cover for gear shaft to prevent sticking due to dirt. We have shewn a pressed metal shield as being the simplest, but if a moulded rubber shield is found preferable on account of noise, the scheme allows it to be easily fitted. The reverse light switch is exactly like Wraith, and being mounted on the gate bracket casting eliminates the separate pressing required on Wraith. Please instruct experimentally.
