We have known for some time that there is a depression in the annular space between the gearbox 1st. motion shaft and the spigot of the front cover on which the clutch trunnion slides. In an attempt to cure oil leaks from the gearbox to the clutch pit on 8.B.V. we have had 4 0.500 dia. holes drilled round the spigot of the front cover immediately on the clutch side of the 1st. M shaft oil retaining thread. This considerably reduced the leakage and we recommend that it should be instructed for the 50 and 300 B.V. chassis. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J.
