Our Ref HA/WM 1st July, 1937 W.A. Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Mr. Robotham, I am enclosing herewith Deflection Graphs which we have made of the Long type Phantom III Plate and one similar of the 100 which we are about to build for you, using the Cushion Plates of .031" thick material. From these, you will see that the rate of deflection is considerably higher on the English made plate than on the Long. I should discount overall thicknesses, as we had to use a pair of Facings which we had available of the old 'Hyco' type. I am arranging personally to have the Long type plate returned to you to-night, and I hope that same will arrive safely at your place tomorrow. SUMMARY OF CURVES CLAMPING PRESS.
