In reply to Mr. Caswell's memo which I return herewith, I have taken the matter up with Dunlops and they reply as follows:-

"We are in receipt of yours of the 16th inst. enclosing excerpt from the letter from your American House regarding wire wheels. We are not in a position to say whether or not the strength of the wheels would be improved by placing them as you suggest, but we shall be pleased to submit some sample wheels for test purposes. We, however, await your remarks before proceeding to build the wheels."

The best course appears to be to have three sets of these wheels made up as indicated, and place them on cars in use, at the earliest moment.

Another scheme would be to run a wheel or an axle on the bumper fitted with these spokes. The bumper test however, seems to be rather a big job during the War.
