Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KW18.4.36 ----- I note you have ascertained from Mr.Summers that what he means in regard to the brakes and his remark that they were unpleasant, is that in his opinion there is too little front braking, whereas Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} gave it as his opinion that on the 4¼-litre there is too much front braking. I have spoken to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} about this latter and he says that this is not quite the point. What he did was to report that on our Trials cars it was possible to lock the front wheels, which might come to the same thing, but we think you will agree that locking of the front wheels should not be possible. This, of course, may have been due to some cause other than the distribution of braking power and I understand this matter has been investigated. I note your remarks upon the springing and engine rumble. We know, of course, that Mr. R.F.Summers is very critical. C. | ||
