PETROL. I am of the opinion, judged by observations and comparative running of engines, that the petrol we arenow obtaining in bulk is not as satisfactory as it used to be. It is much more inclined to detonate, and judging by reports we have received, it does not seem to be up to the standard of petrol obtained on the road. I appreciate that to a certain extent this is an advantage, but at the same time do not want to give the impression that our cars are unfavourable in this respect while they are going through their routine tests etc. EP.{G.
