I think the point of my remarks about this fuel seems to have been missed. We have never recommended Cleveland Discol because we say that in this country it is unnecessary to use it. We have never recommended alcohol fuels of any kind for any of our cars but the Bentley. We say however, that if a customer goes touring on the Continent to Austria and Hungary and is told that he must not run on alcohol fuel at the risk of losing his guarantee, then he is going to do his car infinitely more harm by running on the extremely poor straight grade fuels which he can buy than if he ran on alcohol mixture; in fact, we would go so far as to say that the Bentley becomes an impossible car to drive on the No.3 grades of petrol there available. In order that we may have some first-hand experience of Discol, we propose to get Lappin to run his car continuously on this fuel.
