X4038 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/LG. Expl: Dept: 11th. June 1928. Messrs. H.M.Hobson Ltd., 47-55 Acton Vale, London W.3. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Major Searight. 20 HP. HOBSON PETROL GAUGE. With reference to your letter of the 8th.inst. At the present moment the tank on the 20 HP. car has not been altered since we sent you the last calibration. As soon as we alter the position of the filters and put the unit in the centre of the tank, we will endeavour to let you have a tank to calibrate. At the moment however, Hobson Telegages will be fitted in the same manner as the one on Major Searights car. We should therefore like you to arrange a dashboard unit to suit this tank and the new side filler drawing which we enclose. The main object of this is to enable us to fit your gauges to customers requirement retrospectively. When we standardise the gauge on a new tank, we will let you have the unit to deal with. With the Sprengel unit we shall of course delete the sump from the 20 HP. tank, but this should not appreciably affect the calibration. Yours faithfully, | ||
