Complaint Case. 261 I.H. Z.C. MEMORANDUM NO.B.1993 Bt.{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}4/RH.{R. Hollingworth}9.7.37. Copies to:- Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} D/BP. K.{Mr Kilner} R.R.Jackson Esq., Coney Warren Cottage, St.George's Hill, Surrey. Tele: Weybridge 1247. & The Paddock, Brooklands Motor Course, Weybridge. Chassis B-63-BL Visited: 8.7.37. Comp. del. 18.5.34 Body: Park Ward Sal. I saw this owner yesterday and had a long talk to him about his complaint of instability of the front end of his Bentley car which is not fitted with the riding control. I find that his main complaint is of dithering of the wings and lamps on the pave roads of Belgium. He agrees that the Wilmot Breedon bumper makes the car much better in this respect but he is not really satisfied and would like to have fitted if possible the front cross member which came in with the DG. series. Another suggestion was that he would like to go back to the head lamps as originally fitted and he is prepared to "swop" his P.100s with any owner who wants them. In addition he would like our approval to the use of 30 lbs. pressure in his tires instead of 35 as recommended. He has already taken to 30 lbs. on the back and 32 lbs. in front. Mr.Jackson is the well known racing car expert and told me of an experience of his with an M.G. which suffered from the same dither on the front. When he took the matter up with M.G. they advised him to fit a Wilmot Breedon bumper with improvement, and then as he was not satisfied they welded into the front part of his frame pieces which turned it into a box section and this met his needs. As Mr.Jackson needs his car daily and would be greatly inconvenienced if he sent it to Kingsbury for a day Contd. | ||
