B.57.KW. (Vandervell)

With reference to the unit for the above chassis in which you are to fit special bearings etc. in accordance with Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/R.5.7.37, the following are the details of the complete job as required.

(1) Drill an opposite hole to existing, .125 dia, in each crankpin.

(2) Fit die cast main bearings in A.C.6. Check brinell figure.

(3) Fit big end bearings in A.C.6. but with single centre hole oil feed up the connecting rod Ex.27892.

(4) Both main and big ends to have RR.56. shims.

(5) Machine .075 off the cylinder head face which in conjunction with our supplying a 'Corrujoint' gasket will make the compression ratio 8.9:1.

Parts for the job including crankcase, crankshaft, connecting rods and cylinder heads are being supplied by RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SCT.
