Dept. had a similar case some time ago, which was cured by changing the oil release valve. We can only suggest that the level of oil in the crankchamber in this condition of running is too low, or that there is an air leak in the suction side of the oil pump which only comes into action when the oil level is low. We propose, when opportunity offers to check this feature, and also the release valve, but we should be glad to receive any further information from the Experimental Dept. on this point.

(3) Water builds up in Radiator at high speeds. This statement was made, I understand as water was noticed to be leaking from the radiator cap joint. We have attempted to turn out cars with special rubber washers fixed for this joint, but so far the rubber washers have not been satisfactory. Could the Experimental Dept. supply us with suitable rubber washers which they now consider satisfactory for standardising, and which we can supply and fix to this car. (Understand Dermatine recommended).

(4) Dynamo Charging Rate. This complaint has already been anticipated. We suggest this is a case where an increased output dynamo should be supplied and fitted, as done on previous occasions, such as on the Prince of Wales car and Malcolm Cambell's. Will S. please confirm and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} instruct suitable dynamo to be supplied.

(5) Foot brake bangs if released quickly. This is also a general complaint which is having Experimental Dept. attention. Different improvements have been recommended for standardising in regard to the 20-HP. car. Could they not recommend that a suitable scheme be applied to this car and if satisfactory might be considered as standard.

(6) Dash Board Lighting, considered inefficient. This is rather contrary to the usual complaint, customers having raised the point that the lighting of the instrument patch is rather too glaring. Unless any further suggestions are forthcoming, we propose recommending the fitting of bulbs of larger C.P.

(7) Bonnet Locks and Catches. These are already on the Experimental Dept. list of complaints, and we understand a new scheme is in hand for the next 10,000 mile Experimental car. We can check over the present bonnet locks and fittings and see that the best has been made of them.

We understand that Mr. Fairey's car will be sent to the Coachbuilders (Park Wards, London) about 23rd. inst. and we shall be pleased, while the car is there, to attend to the above complaints. We shall be glad, therefore, if BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and the Experimental Dept. can give these matters their attention so that we can make the best of this opportunity in dealing
