LOV{Mr Lovesey} Dear Sirs, We are obliged to you for your letter of the 23rd Feb. We can certainly supply you with suitable thermostats to perform the duty mentioned, but before deciding on what type, we shall be obliged if you will let us have the following information. Will the 5/8" by-pass to the carburettor heating jacket be taken jointly from both thermostat bodies? It seems to us to be desirable that it should as otherwise the thermostats will be placed at the dead end of a water pipe, with the result that the temperature conditions within the water jackets will not be transmitted to the sensitive element within the thermostat. If it is your wish to maintain a uniform temperature round the engine during the heating up period, we would strongly recommend the use of a larger additional by-pass through which circulation could take place in the normal manner while warming up is taking place, this by-pass being positively closed off when the thermostat valve opens. If you will be good enough to let us have | ||
