| G.W.H. Many thanks for your memos. Am not quite clear as to your final opinion on the Gearbox. In one memo you say not fit for production, in your note of July 21st you say you are happy with the box. Your cure for the leak through the rear main bearing is most interesting; what pressure did you get at the bearing with your pipe from the flywheel periphery? Are you sure the cure is due to this pressure + not to the felt? I can only conclude that the 6" of water we measure in our Clutch pit is crank case pressure coming straight through the rear main bearing. You haven't told us just what the thermostats are worth in radiator temperature? Also could you measure the improvement when you cleaned the flues etc from your radiator?
