COST OF SWITCHES.

Regarding your queries, the petrol pump switch we are now buying from Messrs. Lucas costs us 1/10d.each. and this price remains unchanged. Mr. Thacker stated that they had no intention of increasing the price and so far we have no proposed modification which will involve an increase.

This price compares favourably with a cost, estimated by Rb.{R. Bowen}, of 8/6d each. for the proposed R.R. switch to R.R.Sch. 1012.

With regard to foot switches, the new R.R. switch to R.R.Sch.998 designed to cater for double filament lamp bulbs will cost us 16/3d. each. whereas Messrs. Lucas have quoted us 3/6 each for the switch we are now testing out and which has now completed 50,000 operations.

There will be a tool cost of £170 which of course would also be involved if we had to start manufacture of the new R.R. switch.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.

our switch costed by Lucas 4/3 each.
