S/W To - Mr. Tresilian Copy - Mr. Hives Mr. Rowledge Mr. Robotham CHASSIS. Petrol Switch for bushing each side of the PUMP. Referring to HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}T.S.28.4.37 I have seen Rs{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}/Wst and discussed this matter with him yesterday. I am wondering whether anybody is taking immediate action to get all the switches back from R.{Sir Henry Royce} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and anywhere else where they have been sent. If not, this should be done immediately. A Depot Instruction Sheet should also be issued, instructing them on receipt of the modified switches to take immediate action to change the switches on all the cars to which they have been fitted by the Depots, and the Works presumably should take action to change all the switches on cars which have been turned out with them. I imagine it is quite a simple job for an owner or driver to change the switch, i.e. that we need not send a man round everywhere but I am anxious that the matter should be definitely pursued because we must not run the risk of further petrol pump troubles arising as the result of troubles with the switch. Please let me know by memo. or when I am at Derby next Tuesday exactly what is being done. I should like to discuss when I am at Derby next Tuesday the question of the introduction of our own switch which you say should be capable of being produced as cheaply as the one we are using.
