Test observing the wrapping effect on bearing faces when a new, slightly oval rocker and eccentric are fitted.

Another test showed, that if a new bush was fitted with a slightly oval Rocker and eccentric, and a very small upward load applied to the eccentric arm. - the arm would move upwards away from the plunger in a series of little jerks caused by a self wrapping effect of the bearing faces.
It should have been mentioned previously, the engine was ticking over slowly for this test.
It is impossible to reproduce this state of affairs with perfectly concentric parts.
