RE: PHANTOM 11 CHASSIS.
BODY WIRING AND ACCESSORY BOX.

With reference to E.1/M.18.1.32. we are of the same opinion as the Experimental Department, that all the electric wiring should be connected up to one distribution board and dispense with the accessory distribution board and the body lighting junction box. This was suggested some months ago when we were considering the electrical part of the chassis from an economy point of view.

It was also suggested that much time would be saved in the Erecting Bay if this distribution board could be fixed on one side of the dash, and as low as possible, in order to be near the chassis frame. This would then enable the electricians to couple up the wiring from conduits in the chassis frame without having to dismantle the conduits on the dash after having been fitted up in the Dashboard Department.

In regard to the present scheme, we are of the opinion that another accessory box should be fitted in the frame in place of the present junction box, if the percentage of cars having cigar lighters etc. is sufficient to warrant the extra cost of the accessory box.

If it is desired to avoid the extra cost, then we suggest that coachbuilders are definitely instructed to connect cigar lighters in the interior, to the existing accessory box and not to the body lighting junction box.
