(sheet 2) E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}5/HP.12.12.35. has been ordered and should be available in a day or so. (8) It was pointed out by the Design department that the large bore experimental engines so far used for development work are fitted with standard type cylinder heads. The proposed turbulent cylinder head (Lec.4695) which has other features differing from the standard type head has not yet been completed and tested; an entirely new set of conditions, therefore, will result and it is not possible to determine what the final proportions of the air intake, induction manifold and exhaust manifold will be, It is, therefore, very important to push on with the completion of the cylinder head and get it on test.
