2/ about noon. On the way to Folkestone the dynamo went out due to the commutation collapsing exactly like the ones on 59H and 69H. I took off the dynamo and sent it back to works from Dover. We had to go on to Dover as there were no cars being shipped from Folkestone due to low tide at Boulogne. We crossed on the night boat from Dover to Boulogne arriving at midnight. The car was then locked up in bond at the custom until next morning and we did not get it cleared until noon on Saturday. We then got away and stayed the night at Rouen arriving at Laval on Sunday afternoon. The car ran well but is much slower than 69H due to the big heavy body. Also it is unpleasant to travel all out as the body rolls when taking bends. The car rides very nicely at low speeds but my conviction is stronger than ever that for fast travelling on anything but smooth roads rigid springs of high rating are desirable.
