The new front glass for these headlamps which we have been trying on experimental cars, is such a distinct improvement for high speed driving, that we have decided to issue a standardisation sheet for this feature on Bentley and 40/50 chassis immediately and we recommend that it should be incorporated on all P.100 headlamps as soon as possible. The centre of the glass is left clean and the surround vertically ribbed. This results in a much longer and more intense beam with practically no diminution in the side lighting which is so essential on wide roads and for cornering. The unanimous opinion of all who have tried the lamps is that high speed driving at night is considerably less trying and more safe. It is now proposed to modify 20/25 headlamps experimentally in a similar manner for trial. Ha/Wst. | ||
