X.1017. RE FAN TESTS.

Confirming our various conversations, it is agreed that you will make various modifications as verbally desired to the blades of the special EAC. four-bladed fan, upon which we have found improved efficiency, the fan to be retested after each modification.

It is also arranged that you will make up an experimental Goshawk fan with four blades, starting with the full possible fan diameter as allowed by the radiator, and with very wide blades, after the style of a Maltese Cross, and blades such as can comparatively easily be altered by bending. In addition to modifications by bending, there will be modifications by cutting portions of the blades away. After each modification the fan will be tested and we thus hope to really to arrive at the best form of fan which is produceable from sheet material.
