Dear Mr. Brooks,

Thank you for your letter of January 7th.

We received the two sets of pistons satisfactorily, and shall have completed our endurance run on the first set within the next day or two.

We suggest that you should come to the Works next week in order to see these pistons, and also a set of the pistons in 122 alloy, which have been running at high power outputs. The latter set has cracked up badly. At the same time we shall probably be able to show you a set of 12 pistons which we previously criticised, and which we put back in the engine at your request. These have since done a good many hours and two of them are still suffering from cold knocks. You will remember that some of the bores were slightly oval, and these are supposed to have been corrected.

Yours sincerely,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
