To:- All Superintendents and Foremen. Starting and Stopping Times. Slackness in the observance of the correct starting and stopping times in the factory has now become a scandal. Thousands of hours are lost each week due to men leaving before the proper time and not starting at the correct time. The reason given for this is that the time signals cannot be heard clearly throughout the factory. This, however, does not excuse the Foremen and Supervisory Staff allowing employees flagrantly to break the rules with regard to time keeping. I have instructed that all the gates in the factory are to be kept locked until the stopping times of :- 12.25 p.m. 5.30 p.m. 8.00 p.m. 2.00 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. respectively. All employees working overtime must clock off when they leave the factory, even when their time of leaving is at the end of the full overtime period. Anyone wishing to leave the factory other than at the correct stopping times must give a pass signed by his foreman to the watchman on the gate. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
