1210 H.Fore To:- All Officials, Superintendents and Foremen. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/DK.9.9.40. Rest Periods. The Shop Stewards have written to Lord Beaverbrook a letter concerning rest periods, from which the following paragraph is re-produced:- "This Committee has put forward proposals for alternate week-end rest periods, an arrangement that we are prepared to alter by agreement, if it was found that production was affected." I propose giving this a trial and therefore agreed to this last week end being a holiday. Whether or not this alternate week end holiday becomes a custom will depend on whether production is affected. I have received assurance from the Shop Stewards that employees will work the full overtime hours during the week. The full.working hours are - Monday to Friday, 7.55 a.m. to 8 p.m. with meal intervals from 12.25 p.m. to 1.25 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday - 7.55 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a meal interval on Saturday from 12.25 p.m. to 1.25 p.m. and on Sunday from 12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. The night shift hours are from 8.30 p.m. to 7.30 a.m. with a meal interval between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
