Goshawk Open Body for Mr. Royce X3730 This body was finished, as you know, late on Saturday afternoon at Hoopers. Mr. Evernden has, I understand, written and told you that the cushions ordered for this car could not be obtained by Hoopers in time and they were obliged to fit some other and thinner cushions. This has resulted in the front(driver's)cushion being 1 1/2" too low. Hoopers say that if there had been a workman at hand on Saturday afternoon they would have made a wooden packing piece to fit under the cushion, this would have raised it 1 1/2". Mr. Evernden decided, and rightly I consider, that the car had better come in its present condition to you in the belief that you would be able to pack up the cushion with a wooden strip. I should like to have your views with reference to the general dimensions of the body. Hoopers have written us saying that they will not be responsible for the narrow dimension across the front seat at elbow line. This dimension was decided by Mr. Royce. Hoopers consider it too narrow for standard use. I should like to hear from you when the chassis for the Endurance cars will arrive in London and Biggleswade. Sp.{Mr Spinney} | ||
