Description of a carburettor invention using successive induction pipes, chokes, and jets.

In stating that the induction pipes are brought into operation successively we mean that the throttle valve of one will commence to open, but not necessarily be fully opened, before the throttle valve of another commences to open.

Each induction pipe may be served by a separate jet and choke or the chokes and or the jets may be the same for each, but preferably there is a single choke tube with different jets serving the different induction pipes.

An example of this invention is illustrated diagrammatically in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a vertical section through part of a carburetter and induction pipes, the upper part of the drawing being shown in elevation, and Figure 2 is a plan view of the parts illustrated in Figure 1.

A is the passage way by which air is supplied to the carburetter. This passage way is controlled by a trunk member A1 rigid with a piston B reciprocating in a cylinder B1 with a dash pot, the cover of which is shown at B2 arranged to damp out oscillation of the piston.
