Referring to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.21.5.31 re question of higher gear, I note that the axle with the higher gear will be ready in about 10 days from the 21st which brings us to this next week-end.

The car 26-EX has no special appointments after the end of this week.

We should like, however, to have it out of commision for trials purposes as short a time as possible and I assume that, once the axle is at N., we could arrange for the changeover to be made the day before the Brooklands test so that including putting the standard axle back, the car would not be put out of use for more than three days.

Please let me know when the axle will be despatched to N. and what day will suit you for the Brooklands test.

I gather that you already have all the data that you require in regard to 26-EX with the present axle so that the only figures to be obtained in comparison with 27-EX will be those of the car with the higher gear axle.
