87960. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to PN.{Mr Northey} PHANTOM II CONTINENTAL MODEL. We assume that you would like the higher axle ratio tried on a Continental model similar to those you are selling that is, 26-EX. type. We would suggest that we prepare another axle with a higher ratio and change over on that car. We could do this in about ten days. We could arrange the test so that we have 27-EX. car, which is a Continental Type fitted with twin carburetters and high compression, with the higher axle ratio and take it to Brooklands. We could then compare this car with 26-EX. and also previous figures we have obtained with the present standard axle ratio, and then change the axles over at Cricklewood. We could then go down the following day and repeat the tests. Carrying out tests on 27-EX. would only be useful in showing something that we might obtain some day. If you agree and will let us know when 26-EX. car is available we will let you know when we shall be ready. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
