TELEPHONE No 1195. (2 LINES.) Engineering Laboratory, Cambridge. S.W.Grylls Esq., Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Grylls, My Delage will have to last me for a good many more years unless you are prepared to give me a Super-Bentley. Concerning research on the flow of air through poppet valves this strikes me as quite a profitable field. At present I do not know exactly the number or ambitions of the research students who may be working here next year, but I will bear your suggestion in mind and if I have a suitable man available I will certainly take up your ideas and get into communication with you on the subject. I cannot call to remembrance any work which has been done on poppet valve efficiency. Yours sincerely, C.E. Inglis | ||
