Clan Foundry To EJJ. c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC{R. Childs}/CAR. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}8/JH.9.4.40. re Electrical Laboratory at Glen Foundry. In order to accommodate the laboratory equipment at the Glen Foundry certain modifications to the rigs and benches will be necessary. In most cases new benches will be required. The heavy iron bed late now used for supporting the dynamo rigs will not be suitable, and two light steel tables constructed of angle iron should be used in its place, these are shewn on the attached arrangement drawing and marked "X". 7 wooden test benches indicated by 'A' will be required as indicated, the tops of which should be covered with plywood and 2 ft. high panels provided for the backs. Standard tool drawers to be provided where indicated by 'B' on the drawing. One pedestal vice will be required in lieu of a work bench which cannot be accommodated. We already have a drawing board for the office, but this needs hinging to the wall. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} | ||
