Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your letter of the 2nd. inst. and give herewith our answer to your enquiries. (a) The maximum torque is approx. 5 lbs.ft. but owing to torsional oscillations an appreciable safety factor should be allowed. (b) That the rate of flexibility should be 3º - 4º either way for 5lbs/Ft; i.e. subjected to a torque of 10 lbs/ ft. should be 6º - 8º either way. We should like to make it clear to you that at the present stage we only require quotations in quantities as stated in our previous letter. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
