Swindell}15/WH Experimental Dept. 2nd. December, 1938 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your letter of the 30th ult. which has just come to hand. The details have been passed to our Drawing Office, and hereunder is their reply. In your original enquiry you gave the torsional flexibility as 8º at 5 lbs feet maximum torque. Our Drawing Office have assumed this torque value at 8º flexibility. We should therefore, like you to let us have replies to the two questions given hereunder. a) That the maximum torque is 5 lbs feet. b) That the 8º is from a mean position either forwards or reverse, or that it is 4º in each direction. It is essential that we have a reply to these questions, as it will effect the stiffness of the coupling. We are pleased to learn that you require a quotation for samples and quantities, and perhaps in your reply you would indicate whether it is your desire that we issue the necessary metal parts, or that you will supply these yourselves. Yours faithfully, THE MANGANESE BRONZE & BRASS CO. LTD., [Illegible signature] "DYNAFLEX" | ||
