would have a capacity of less than 700 lbs. at 3,000 r.p.m., while ours would have 1,000 lbs.

I am afraid that these figures rather exaggerate the difference in this particular case, but it can be taken that our MJ.40 has the same and a better capacity than the New Departure.

With regard to the ball journal and thrust bearing 1-5/8" x 3-1/4" x 3/4", I am not sure whether you require this to be one way thrust as in our Double Purpose bearing, or two way thrust as in our Duplex Double Purpose bearing, and our nearest standard is LJT or DLJT.1-5/8", the dimensions being 1-5/8" x 3-1/2" x 3/4".

Unless we can accommodate the larger outside diameter of 3-1/2", an entirely special bearing would be required, thus increasing cost and delaying delivery etc.

I do not know what actual capacity you are looking for in this particular bearing or what the limitations are, but it occurs to me that you might be able to use a millimetre size bearing such as LJ.40, the dimensions being 40 x 80 x 18, or LJ.45, the dimensions being 45 x 85 x 19, this latter having the same capacity as the LJ.1-5/8".

In all of the above cases you will note that the bearings are of standard construction not being fitted with the shield, and here again I am not sure whether you definitely require the shield, although if this is the case the bearing would again become special, and perhaps you will look into this.
