Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/BMB/L26513. Re Speed of our Cars. - Z.459 D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} In reply to your memo J82/B22513 26/5/13 which has been referred to us by Mr Nadin, the Experimental Shop report as follows:- "We have not made tests with the latest type cars. The 4 speed gear box will not make any difference to the maximum speed of car. We could not promise that a standard car with touring body would do 130 kilometres per hour. The original L-E car fitted with L-E body did 125.5 kilometres per hour on Brooklands in its official test, and I think this is as good as we can do unless we alter the car from standard. Even so it would be a matter for special tests before we could definitely say whether the required speed could be obtained." p. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} * 81.25m.p.h. | ||
