| REPORT ON BENTLEY FRONT AXLE. (Removed from Customer's Car 19.12.34) (1) Front axle and N.S. pivot pin bent (See sketch) (2) Cross and side steering lever bent (See Sketch) (3) Cross steering tube bent (Bowed FORWARDS ^.156 in centre) (4) Near side inner carrier plate G.100404 fulcrum holes .025 oval (should be .375 dia. reamed holes) (5) Locking pins in N.S. brake strap fork not rivetted. (6) Rollers had dug into housing G.100393. (Top pivot bearing) (7) Off side inner carrier plate G.100404 retaining bolt holes .025 oval (should be .250 dia. reamed.holes) (8) Off side outer carrier plate G.100773 - fulcrum bush G.100362 sunk in .010 - .015 deep. (9) Brake drums - the locking saw cuts and the brake drum retaining studs had not been opened out. -------- | ||
