Captain Woolf Barnato called in yesterday and said that we have doubtless heard the name of Hassan, the engineer mechanic who is employed by him, who was responsible for producing his Bentley Hassan and also the Hassan Pacey Bentley which recently came in second in the 500 Mile Race at Brooklands. Hassan used to be at Bentley Service, and Captain Barnato took him over when the old Bentley Company finished. Captain Barnato said he is now proposing to give up racing, and therefore does not wish to keep Hassan, but at the same time is anxious to find him the right sort of job.

Hassan is not keen on going back to the shops, such as at "K", but as Captain Barnato considers him a very clever young man, and the sort of fellow that people like Lagonda and Thompson & Taylor would like to get hold of, he thinks that he would like to help him to get fixed up with us if possible. Hassan is also not keen on going with such people as those mentioned, and is rather thinking of the future.

Captain Barnato asked that I would pass the matter on, in the hope that something could be done; he thinks perhaps that a man like this would be useful in the Experimental Department.
