200a also 600a To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} (Chateauroux) from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}4/AP.12.2.38 Thank you for your various memos of yesterday and today. Not wishing to disturb the Wraith axle of which we have measurements of thicknesses of every washer, I wired Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} to ask whether he really wanted Ph.III. axle gears fitted. He has replied that we should try them on cars at Derby and not on the French car until Sales agree to change the axle ratio. Should it become necessary to use a higher ratio on 20.G.Vl.{V. Lewis / Mr Valentine}, we shall probably send you a pair of wheels and tyres size 6 1/2 X 19 which give exactly the same result. I was wrong when I said we might be able to let you have more 10/43 Bentley gears in 10 days time, it will actually be nearer a month. If you have any more trouble, we shall have to send you standard 10/41 gears. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
