BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL. c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 47080. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL2/LG27. 6. 29. 'SS{S. Smith}' CARBURETTORS. As the result of tests so far carried out we have not been able to effect any appreciable improvement by modification to the position or form of the air ports in the SS.{S. Smith} carburetter. We therefore recommend that the air ports remain the same as on the Std. Phantom air valve. As further experiments are proceeding we suggest you should go steadily with these parts so that in the event of our making a definite improvement the same could be brought into operation reasonably early.
