| E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M1 8.5.32. X5830 C. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}+ re. 2-J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. The body for 2. J.3. will be completed soon. We need information to enable us to produce the instrument board, as this body is being made to suit a L.H. drive chassis. One suggestion is that we might hand the R.H. instrument board as fitted to 1-J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3., the framed patch of instruments being in the centre, with the clock and speedometer having changed places, and the main switch on the L.H. side of the steering column. We would be glad to have your remarks. Derby should note that the chassis should be built left-handed. We are expecting the petrol tank filler to be on the R.H. side, and the spare wheel on the L.H. side looking at the chassis forward from behind.
