20/25 - 'U' SERIES.
CHANGE SPEED & BRAKE LEVERS.

We thank you for your E.2/HP13532., to which we believe DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} replied verbally over the telephone.
We agree to the suggestion of the 'C' steering change lever mechanism being swung back .5" nearer the seat in order to make the gear lever clearance sufficient.
With respect to the fore and aft depth of the front cushion we think that it should be left at 20" for 'C' steering, as 'C' steering always has a fixed seat, and the cusion can be notched at the corner.
Our stock Pullmans will be built for 20" seats, but no cushions will be made up, consequently it is easier for us to notch the cushion than it is to modify the seat width.
With respect to 'E' and 'F' steerings these cars almost invariably have sliding bucket seats of a standard pattern and we think the seat dimension drawings should not be modified from as they now stand.
