The number of shafts accepted from the various casts by Messrs.Daimler and Messrs.Siddeley Deasy, are as follows:-

The number of shafts rejected by Messrs.Daimler and Messrs. Siddeley Deasy from the various casts are the following:-

Cast Number. Rejected for

Out of a total of 208 therefore 141 or 68% were rejected.

The cast numbers of two of the above shafts are doubtful but have been included in 15396 and 15461 respectively.

It will therefore be seen that cast No.15461 is the only one that may be regarded as even moderately satisfactory. 47 Cranks from this particular cast are in process of machining at Messrs. Siddeley Deasy's, and are included in the above 107 above mentioned(List G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp})Lists giving the various identification numbers etc., of shafts are attached.
