E.7.C. X 6011 Ref. No. WE.14. X.NO. 3513 6011 H.T. distributor head and rotor moulded with Bakelite Co's XM1000 material. We have now completed a test of the above by running the distributor head and rotor on a standard distributor base connected up to an ignition coil; the distributor head H.T terminals being open circuited thus allowing H.T. sparks to pass continuously from the rotor blade and distributor sparking points to the aluminium distributor base. In each case, more particularly the rotor, the H.T. discharges had to traverse the surface of the insulation a short distance thus testing the surface susceptibility to tracking. The distributor was run under these conditions for 220 hours the coil being supplied at an average voltage of 17.5. After this time the distributor head and rotor were removed for examination.
