contd. except for slight marks on the surface near the base, was OK and has now been handed over for further test on 20/25HP chassis.
The rotor was deeply scored by the disruptive action of the H.T discharges which had laterally cut through the insulation without causing carbonisation.
These results certainly shew this material to be particularly unsusceptible to tracking, but we are contemplating carrying out further tests by allowing discharges of a higher current density to pass over samples of this material and also standard Bakelite with a view to obtaining a more definite comparison.
