Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 8/JH.22.4.40. Revised Front Pivot - Senior Range. On PL.167 herewith we show the finished design of the Buick type front pivot for the Senior range of car. The scheme also includes the reduced out of centre point already experimentally incorporated on the old design. The wheels for both 5" and 4 1/2" rims remain unaltered. The brake drums both heavy and light type are unaltered except for the addition of the thin back plate which has already been detailed. The new design with solid stub should have a diameter of 1.425 to have equal strength with the previous hollow stub. Our design has a diameter of 1.406 and we feel justified in saying that we have created no real loss in strength. This scheme shows the cross steering lever and modifications to the ball joint for cars having the standard ground clearance. BY. {R.W.
