Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 9/JH.22.4.40. Yoke piece for Buick type Pivot Senior Range. On PL.175 herewith we show the wide and narrow track yoke piece for use with the Buick type Pivot PL.167. This yoke piece gives the present standard ground clearance and will be required as follows - Narrow track Bentley 6, Ripplet, Rippletto, Corniche. Wide track Cresta and 4 door Silver Phantom. On PL.190 also herewith we show the yoke piece for the Buick type pivot wide track, 2" above standard. This is the yoke piece which will be most likely required on the Silver Phantom and Silver Wraith, and it may be that the wide yoke piece for the standard ground clearance shown on PL.175 could be abandoned. We would point out that it is impossible to raise the narrow track cars 2", to do so we should be forced to increase the narrow track from 55 1/2" to about 58", in other words they become wide track cars. This is a difficulty for which there is no design solution other than a complete tear up of the front suspension.
