To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to EY. C. X5830 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/MR2.6.26. RE. EXPERIMENTAL BODIES. X. 8830 X. 5830 At a conference on the subject of 7-EX held at Messrs. Barkers Works yesterday, at which were LIS., Mr. Nutt and EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}, it was stated by Barkers that since the delivery in Dec. last of 7-EX and 10-G-3., two further subframe bodies have been made and despatched to Derby. Furthermore that the subframes supplied had been re-in-forced over the joggle at the rear! This was news to us and we would be glad to hear from you whether this is true or not, as the reason put up by the coachbuilders to explain the failure of the body on 7-EX is that the subframe has not been reinforced in the manner of the latest ones they have received. In view of R's instructions that all experimental bodies should be ordered through WA.{Mr Wallis}, we naturally would not accept the coachbuilders statement.
