Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Ms. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. G/Gn. X6115 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD8.6.32 LUCAS WINDSCREEN WIPER TYPE RW. No.51 With reference to C/Gn/CAS/DW6.6.32 and G/Gn/CAL{Mr Calvert}3/DW2.6.32 having reference to the two invoices received from Messrs. Lucas for the above windscreen wiper, it is evident that Messrs. Lucas have charged us twice for the same wiper. This has probably been occasioned by the fact that the wiper was returned to them for alteration to the wiper arms and was then re-consigned to us. This is quite clear in our correspondence on the matter. On the 17th Feb. on the occasion of a visit of Mr. Brock and myself to Messrs. Lucas, we took the above wiper with us hoping that Messrs. Lucas would be able to alter the arm centres whilst we were at the Works. They could not do this in time so we left the wiper with them and same was returned to us on the 19th Feb, and we have a letter from them ref. X/LGT.16 of 19.2.32 referring to the wiper being re-despatched to us. We should be glad if you will take this matter up with the Account's Dept. and Messrs. Lucas accordingly.
